YOUR FAMILY'S TRUE STORY
Preserve your family's story before it's forgotten.
For you and all your loved ones.
Origin Story
Four years ago, my sister died.
After the funeral, we went through old photo albums. Watched the videos we had saved. My niece — her daughter — found diaries and cried because she could no longer ask what those lines meant.
We searched for everything that remained. Photos in the family chat. Videos on an old phone. Voice messages. But it was all scattered, mixed with noise, impossible to piece together.
We'd long used MyHeritage, building a family tree. But genealogy doesn't preserve voice. It doesn't preserve laughter. It doesn't preserve HOW a person told their stories.
I looked at this and thought: why didn't I record her stories? Why didn't I ask her to tell me about her childhood, about our grandmother, about what she remembered?
Yet I know how to do this. For more than five years, I've worked with people's living stories. At Audiodoc, we record their narratives and turn them into theater performances. I know how a real interview works. I know people remember far more than they think — if you ask the right questions.
And I decided: if I can do this for theater — I'll do it for families. For those who don't want to feel what I felt: that they missed the moment. That they didn't ask. That they didn't record.
That's how I created Family Stories.
I built it for my family. For my niece who will never hear her mother's voice again. For my older sister who's desperately trying to preserve at least something.
And for you. So you won't feel what I felt: that you didn't make it in time. That you didn't ask. That you lost forever what could have been saved.

After my grandfather's third stroke, he was paralyzed. He was able to move only a few days later, and his first communication was to ask for a pen and paper. He wrote – I love you, Lyalya — that was my grandmother's name — and soon passed away.
Only three years later, I came across albums with poems and incredible pencil drawings among his things. They were albums he had filled and sent to my grandmother while studying in another part of the country — his poems and sketches of what he saw.
I tried many times to get them both to talk about their lives, but 15 years ago we didn't have the tools we have now.
This project is very important to me. I wish there was a way for you to learn something about your family's history while they're still alive.

Grandma, how did you and grandpa first meet? What do you remember most?
We met at a summer dance in the city park. He was shy, but he asked me to dance a waltz. That's how it all began...
What was the most important lesson your parents taught you?
They taught me to always support family, no matter what. We didn’t have much, but we always had each other.
